GRANT FUNDS FOR LIFE-SAVING AEDS AT C-W

WHEATLAND (IOWA) Calamus-Wheatland Schools is the recipient of a $1,000 Aureon grant and a $1,000 match from F&B Communications.

Grant funds will help the district replace outdated Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs). This project will equip the district with three new units. The newer units are more user-friendly to operate and serve as a vital link should a student or adult have a cardiac emergency.

F&B Communications, the local telecommunications provider in Calamus and Wheatland, is one of more than 100 Iowa independent telephone company member-owners of Aureon Network Services, which helps to provide advanced telecommunications and data services across the state.

Nearly $39,200 has been awarded to organizations in the F&B Communications service area in the last 25 years since the charity grant program began.

The charity grant program is open to non-profit organizations in the F&B Communications service area. Grant applications are available online. Charity grants are awarded on a quarterly basis and chosen by an independent review committee organized by Aureon.

F&B Communications is the premiere local telecommunications provider offering telephone, long distance, Skitter TV video, high-speed fiber and DSL Internet, and home security services to customers in the Bennett, Calamus, Delmar, Lowden and Wheatland exchanges and surrounding areas. The company also provides computer sales and service through their Technology Solutions retail store.
